Enrichment at Austin Community College

One of the things that is most important to Nelson Plant Food is helping the communities we live and work in. More specifically to Dean, it's empowering the young people within those communities.

Phi-Theta-Kappa Service Fraternity at ACC.

One of my customers, Larry Best with Best Horticultural Solutions, needed some bags of our famous ColorStar for Flowering Plants delivered. I was in the area and was able to actually hand deliver the product to Larry. In conversation and being my nosey self, I asked where the product was going to be used. Larry was working with Austin Community College and their grounds supervisor, George Griffith, for a special project. He informed me that their service fraternity was going to be installing flower beds throughout the campus for a beautification project. He further mentioned that they were going to be planting HUNDREDS of flats of flowers for the project. Our ColorStar for Flowering Plants would be used to keep them looking amazing for months to come. I immediately offered to help and meet these amazing young adults. Lucky for me, I was able to easily recruit Dean Nelson (owner and president) to join me that day. Together with the students, George, and Larry, we helped get some plants into the ground in the time we were available to help.

A special thanks to Austin Community College and Best Horticultural Solutions for spearheading the project and a big thanks to the young men and women of the service fraternity! You all did an amazing job!
