NPF Service...It's Personal.

As a summer intern with Nelson Plant Food, I have had the chance to survey many of the growers, landscapers, and retailers that use our products. In talking with more and more people, I have come to this concrete conclusion: It’s the PERSONAL service that will make or break your company.

Dallas Arboretum

Nelson Plant Food was one of the sponsors for the recent Plant Trials at the Dallas Arboretum. The trials are conducted to provide research and information to the public about what fertilizers work in climates similar to that of North Central Texas. Along with offering information to the public, growers, retailers, and anyone interested have the opportunity to visit the trial gardens to see how different plants perform. The program has now started to use Nelson Plant Food products in their trials. To learn more about the trials, visit www.dallasplanttrials.org.

Beat the Heat with NPF Products

As we get into the blistering hot months that are characteristic for the South, you may be concerned about your plants withering up and dying. For many of us, this has happened all too often and seems to be just “one of those things” that comes with the summer. However, just as we give up on our plants and the possibility of keeping them alive through the summer months, you pass that neighbor down the street with the perfect lawn. The grass is still green (or at least not as brown), the flower beds are weeded, and the flowers are blooming. What could they possibly be doing??

Nelson Plant Food Family is Blooming!

Although we want to keep our readers and customers updated on Nelson’s products, sometimes personal things are just so exciting they need to be shared too! Some big changes are happening in the lives of some of our employees.

This morning, our wonderful office manager Vicki, shared the most touching story with me and I had to blog about it.

Top 10 Plants I've Yet to Kill

Hello Friends! Through a wonderful twist of fate, I am lucky enough to work for Nelson Plant Food and sell the BEST professional grade fertilizer to retailers, landscapers, and growers. I love the beauty of a healthy and vibrant landscape and appreciate all the hard work that goes into creating and maintaining one. That all being said, I rarely have one to speak of myself! I travel 50% of the time, live in 100 degree temps most of the year with rainless Summers, and have 3 dogs with razor blades for claws and an affinity for marking anything standing still long enough.

Spring Has Sprung at Nelson Plant Food

Welcome friends! As most of you can tell, Spring has officially sprung for the southern U.S. and especially at Nelson Plant Food. A lot has happened since we last wrote, so let's catch up on the latest.

ColorStar for Flowers vs. NatureStar Natural Garden and Flower Fertilizer

One of our customers recently tested our new NatureStar Natural Garden and Flower Fertilizer and compared the results to those of our ColorStar for Flowers product.

In the photos below, the plants on the left side are 1 variety (purple wave) and the right side is another variety (laura bush). You will notice a gap in the middle of each row. That gap divides the sections treated with each fertilizer. The petunias closest to the camera (on both sides) received the organic fertilizer and the sections (both sides) towards the back received ColorStar.
